In the fall of 1997, shortly after my yearly hunting expedition in the Cascade Mountains of Central Oregon, I recognized the need for a truly comfortable and rugged waterproof fabric in the outdoor arena. That trip had been the coldest and wettest of my recent memory. Being an outerwear manufacturer for over 20 years and an avid hunter my entire life, I've learned a few things. The latter has taught me to bring as much outerwear as I could carry, while the former has afforded me with the opportunity to do so. As such, I'd brought several different jackets that year. Unfortunately, none of them worked. My wool jacket soaked through quickly and took hours to dry by the fire. My old vinyl rain slicker worked, but hindered my movement. And GORE-TEX® made too much noise when I walked. Upon my return home, I set out to resolve this issue. I'd tried every piece of outdoor fabric I could get my hands on and nothing worked. Well, if I couldn't find a fabric that worked I decided to create one that would. After three years of research and development, experimentation, and $2 million in associated costs, I'm proud to present the Hydro2 PowerLockTM (H2P®)Waterproof System. At last, a warm and insulating weatherproof fabric which lends comfort, durability, and virtual silence to the outdoor arena.
