Maureen McKay loves kids and understands the ups and downs of parenting. She reveals powerful ideas for raising caring, responsible children who are capable of becoming independent adults-the most optimistic outcome of all!
After working in schools with hundreds of children, Maureen saw many teaching techniques that could be useful at home but were unknown to parents. Maureen was determined to share great strategies - from a parent?s perspective. Sadly, Maureen's research revealed that most parenting books are boring and clinical with a lack of practical information. She decided to bridge the gap and utilized her experiences to create the resource she'd wished for as a mother and tutor. Maureen adapted hundreds of strategies and tried them with students. She realized the same tips can help every child.
The more tools parents have at their fingertips; the more effective they will be. Maureen is a cancer survivor who lives in Minnesota with her family. In addition to writing, she is active in parent education and public speaking. Maureen has been featured in numerous magazines, newspapers, web forums, and radio shows across the nation. Known for its unusual brand of parenting advice, Optimistic Outcomes, LLC has won three national awards and a semi-finalist spot in an entrepreneurial business competition.
