American Made Shirts, Coats, Sweaters, Jackets - Clothes Made in USA
My father Morris and my uncle Victor came to Kansas City, Missouri from Poland to pursue the American Dream. In 1937 they founded the Lerner Cap Company. Business was so good, that by 1944 Victor opened another factory in Baxter Springs, Kansas. In 1946, Morris returned from military service in the Pacific and moved us to Baxter to run the factory and called it Lerner Brothers Manufacturing Company. Victor returned to Kansas City to continue operations there. Lerner Brothers became King Louie International, Inc. By 1974, Morris had retired and Victor had passed away. The remaining family members sold to outside investors in 1982 and by 1994 King Louie was operating 5 manufacturing facilities employing 900 people producing American Made shirts.
In March 2006, however, King Louie International became a casualty of cheap foreign labor and announced it was closing its doors. On June 1, 2006 I bought the domestic division and because I believed King Louie’s reputation for quality products and services still justified the investment in a UNION MADE IN THE USA apparel manufacturing company. Our customers have proven me right.
For 2008, we are pleased to introduce over 20 exciting new styles to add to our already full line of shirts, outerwear, activewear and ladies’ wear. King Louie America looks forward to another year as your number one provider of UNION MADE IN THE USA promotional apparel products.
